Stoney Creek High School Hosts Mental Health Night, Supported by Thaar Care
Rochester Hills, MI – In a powerful demonstration of prioritizing student well-being, the Stoney Creek High School Football Team and Team Continue successfully hosted a crucial Mental Health Night for the school community. The event was organized to raise awareness, provide educational resources, and destigmatize the discussion around mental health challenges facing today’s youth.
The evening featured specialized support from community partners, including the Thaar Care Foundation, which provided professional representation to assist attendees and answer questions.
Representing Thaar Care at the event were dedicated therapists Diane Johnston and and Abby Black, LLC.

First State Bank Drives Support for Mental Health at Annual Golf Outing
The Thaar Care Foundation received a significant boost to its mission at the recent First State Bank annual golf outing. The financial institution, known for its commitment to community causes, presented a generous donation to Thaar Care,recognizing the critical need for accessible mental health services in the region.
In attendance to receive the donation was Patricia L. Thaar-Tocco, MA, LPC, NCC, the Founder, CEO, and Executive Director of the Thaar Care Foundation.

Inaugural Therapy Network Event a Success
On June 19, we held our first semi-annual therapy network event, bringing together therapists from local private practices and community mental health organizations for a day of networking and learning. The event featured valuable presentations, including insights from Macomb County Clubhouse and information on Skywood Recovery Centers presented by Brian Couzens. Our main speaker, Carmie Tocco Bohalis, offered practical ways caregivers can prioritize self-care and healing through meditation, journaling, and dedicated personal time. Royal Oak Farmers Market host Family Pride
Thaar Care participated in the fourth annual Family Pride event, which was hosted by the Royal Oak Farmers Market. This event, held on June 11 from 4 to 9 p.m., celebrated diversity and aimed to recognize LGBTQ+ families and their children.

No fooling! April 1,2025 we attended two events at Oakland University. Behavioral Health Job and Resource Expo at Oakland University where we met with students starting careers in mental health. Additionally, we were represented at the gender affirmation event held on campus.
